It is so wonderful to be back at Forsyth Middle School! I have missed these kiddos so very much! This group of students make me very excited for what this school year will hold. I am working hard to catch up on what I have missed while on maternity leave. < By the way, isn't she adorable?
I want to let you all know of some upcoming events and happenings going on in the next few weeks:
This Friday, September 6th, we have our Fall Sports PEP Assembly and MAP Recognition at 1:45 PM We are so pumped!!
On September 11th, we will have our observance ceremony to remember the tragic event that happened on this day in 2001.
On Friday, September 15th, we will have our first Character Education Assembly, focusing on our Character Word of the Month, which is "Respect."
October is National Bullying Prevention and Awareness Month, which means our Counseling Classroom lessons focus around this topic. On Monday, October 2nd, we will stand against bullying by participating in Blue Shirt Day. By wearing a Blue Shirt on October 2nd, you are actively bringing awareness to and showing you would like to prevent bullying in your school, community, and activities.
Red Ribbon Week will be October 23rd-27th. This is a week that we focus on drug and alcohol prevention. We take a stand to be drug and alcohol free and have fun doing so!! Classroom counseling lessons will focus on drug and alcohol prevention. We will have a special RRW presentation on Wednesday, October 25th. Theme days and activities will be posted as we approach Red Ribbon Week.
