Looking back at the start of our 2016-2017 school year, we have achieved so much here at Forsyth Middle School! Our students have contributed and participated in numerous events and causes. From Blue Shirt Day, Unity Day, Red Ribbon Week, and Holiday service projects. My heart is so full because of the care and pride that these students take in their school and in their community. It makes me extremely excited for the start of 2017 with this amazing group of students!
We began our first Character Education Assembly of the year with our Character Word of the Month, "Commitment." We were honored to have guests join us from the Lion's Club, who recognized our 7th grade students that participated in a Peace Poster Contest for the organization. Colton Long's artwork is shown here, as he was honored to be chosen as one of the top drawings in the District.
We were also joined by our guests from College of the Ozarks. Mrs. Naomi Parker, a senior at C of O, shared with our students the importance of remaining committed and showing excellent character in all that we do. We greatly appreaciate our guests joining us this month and look forward to our future events that we hope to share with others as well.
During the month of November, we will be learning about our Character Word, "honesty."
We are greatly looking forward to what we can accomplish in the remainder of this school year and start this year off right in 2017!
