I am writing this post right after our Unity Day at Forsyth Middle School. This was a day for students, teachers, and all Middle School staff to stand together against bullying, promoting kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Students and staff were encouraged to wear orange in support of Unity Day and standing united against bullying. Needless to say, our hallways were very bright!
Our Unity Day mural looks awesome! Each student was encouraged to trace their hands and then sign the mural. Have you ever seen something that was so messy that it just turns out looking absolutely amazing!?! That is how this mural seemed to turn out. In all reality, that is a lot like life and our friendships/relationships. Sometimes we argue. We fight, and things can get messy. However, when we all stand united and work together, our friendships/relationships turn into an amazingly wonderful thing!
Now for what you have all been waiting for: RED RIBBON WEEK announcements!!! Red Ribbon Week will be Monday, October 24th, through Friday, October 28th. Red Ribbon Week is a time set aside in our school year to recognize drug/alcohol awareness and prevention. Each day will have a specific theme, and students are encouraged to dress according to that theme. Prizes will be awarded to individuals who are judged to have dressed best according to the theme. Class prizes will also be awarded for having the most students participate in the theme days. Below, I have attached the Red Ribbon Week poster, which displays the different themes for each day.
Our Red Ribbon Week Assembly will be on Monday, October 24th, during 7th hour. I am looking forward to this coming week and all of the activities that go along with it!
